UAV applications are set to explode in the commercial market once airspace regulations are defined and published. Currently, the airspace that belongs to manned systems presents a controversial barrier to the civilian UAV market segment.

However, from the legal point of view, it is easier to operate a UAV under 1Kg in the civilian environment…

That is the reason why Bluebird has invested in the develop the MicroB UAV. By leveraging military UAS “Know how” and with unique and innovative approach – Bluebird has developed a micro UAV that can perform the missions of larger and more expensive UAVs.

Bluebird understands the potential uses for UAVs outside the armed forces and design its UAVs for the special demands of the civilian markets, like user friendly, safety, redundancy, cost effectiveness and low life-cycle-cost.

Bluebirds UAVs could be use for civilian scientific research or environmental monitoring, weather/atmospheric data collection, oceanographic data collection, agricultural monitoring, and high altitude geological mapping of magnetic, radiological and gravimetric data and more

Examples for commercial applications:

Monitor, coordinate and assist the activities of local and governmental agencies for monitoring and protecting natural resources. E.g. to detect unauthorized cutting trees that may cause landslides in mountainous areas, detecting resources theft, detection of fire in forests etc.
Provide government and municipal authorities with orthophotos of urban, agricultural and industrial districts in order to assist in the design and development of large scale projects, such as reconstructions of sewage systems, designing of water supply systems, building a new port, new neighborhoods, etc.
Monitor and coordinate the civilian municipal authorities' activities in order to combine them into the big picture of governmental plans and allow fruitful dialogue between various governmental and local authorities.
Monitor national strategic facilities, such as oil pipes and facilities; nature reserves that draw international attention .
Assist in wildlife conservation by performing Herd Tracking and Management, Habitat Inspection, Fisheries Management, Species Conservation, Wildlife Inventory, Feed Water Monitoring, etc.
