Company Profile

BlueBird Aero Systems Ltd specializes in design, development and production of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and delivers unique, quality, comprehensive technological solutions to the challenges and needs of both the military and the civilian UAV markets.

The core of Bluebird's endeavors focuses in developing and manufacturing UAVs that are of groundbreaking, test-proofed technological qualities. One example is Bluebird's achievements as the world’s leading developer of Soft Wing tactical UAV. Such a vehicle and its accompanying systems were developed by BlueBird Aero Systems Ltd and have accumulated hundreds of flight hours. In addition, the company holds the rights to several patents related to Soft Wing UAV navigational and stabilization systems, as well as for the improvement of flight performance.
BlueBird Aero Systems presents complete ‘end to end’ development capabilities under one roof. The development of a variety of systems is carried out by the company through its various stages, starting with the requirements specification document and onward with initial design, the engineered prototype, flight tests and manufacturing of the completed and mature systems. Each and every phase is carried out with adamant high quality, using the most advanced development tools. All manufacturing processes are well documented.

Our clients - technological and military organizations

BlueBird's achievements as a creative company with advanced development abilities and fast, cost effective working methods have caught the attention of large technological and military organizations, both in Israel and worldwide. During the past year, BlueBird's products were examined by several large companies, in designated demonstrations in Israel and abroad, after which several UAV systems were acquired.

World-wide activities

BlueBird's products were presented around the globe last year, and have aroused great interest due to their unique capabilities and their operational maturity. The company is currently negotiating the sale of its products with several potential clients.
Several Blueye systems were sold to L3-MPRI (a professional US services company) as part of the Marine Corps War-fighting Lab (MCWL) AVCDS evaluation program. BlueBird's AVCDS solution (Airborne Volumetric Change Detection System), delivered a change-detection system mounted on the Blueye unmanned aerial vehicle, capable of automatically locating Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), by comparing two high resolution three-dimensional photographs and flagging changes. As part of this contract, BlueBird delivered Blueye systems, payloads, ground control units, and an integrated broad-band communication link. The systems were sent to the United States, where they were tested under severe desert conditions in the Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) for three weeks.

Activities in Israel

In addition to the UAV market, several governmental, security and business organizations have expressed their interest in the acquisition of UAV flight-hours for various applications. This includes secured facilities monitoring, aerial photography, surveillance and long-range observance, Photogrammetry and the supply of mapping products.

RAFAEL has signed an agreement with BlueBird Aero Systems Ltd for the development of mini-UAV systems. As part of this project BlueBird has developed the UAV’s aerodynamic platform, its avionics and communication systems, the back-packed launcher and the recovery system. BlueBird is also fully responsible for conducting the test flights. In addition, BlueBird was selected to manufacture the UAV and its support equipment. To date, over fifty (50) aircrafts were manufactured and delivered.

Maintaining the highest standards

Bluebird's UAVs are manufactured in line with the most meticulous production protocols. Production is accompanied by production-procedures, assembling drawings, detailed assembly instructions and QA documents.

The systems produced by BlueBird are fully documented, and include a detailed system description, a system operational manual and a system maintenance manual.

The products’ design is carried out using SolidWorks, the world’s leading 3D design program.

BlueBird computerized systems run using the SAP Manage program for resource and auxiliary-parts management.

Bluebird is IS0 9001:2000 certified by the Standarts Institiution of Israel.
